I'm Lonely, but I Don't Want to Get Too Close

We were also thinking about that year when you were sick as a kid, between 12 and 13 and undiagnosed. We think there're probably a lot of scars there that haven't fully healed. And the thing that therape can help you with is this idea of, i'm lonely, but i don't want to get too close. That's a real internal conflict for you. How am i trying to protect myself here in a way that maybe isn't protective, but that will leave me feeling even lonelier?
