The Proposal to Ban TikTok

TikTok is trying to get around some of the more draconian actions that the US government could take. John Sutter: Does anyone think that putting servers in Texas and having Oracle run them is the solution? He says there's a good faith argument to be made that if you move all the data to the US, you have more transparency about where you store your data. The Restrict Act is something that tries to bring a little more coherence or consistency because TikTok is not the only Chinese app that's popular in the United States.
