Reading with their children but also talking about what they read is good for literacy and general learning so that there's a building of experiences around literature which encourages children to in future be more positive about books. "I think it's a kind of imprecise use of of language which can lead to doing the wrong things okay" says Professor Michael Graziano, head of English Department at Stony Brook University.
