The idea of irrationality smuggles in a standard, the standard of rationality. Whether we're rational and how irrational we appear depends on what we preconceive rationality to be. Tom stafford has recently conducted some research into human reasoning that calls into question some of our previous assumptions. And he did that using the wason selection task.
