How Do Environmental Toxics Affect Our Ability to Absorb and Use Nutrients?
Toxicology as a discipline or field was initially focused on only the effects of acute toxicity. But we now know that these toxins can have a chronic toxicity effect at much, much lower levels of exposure. These toxins bind to nutrients and they decrease the bioavailability of that nutrient. And so it's a double whammy effect where when we don't get enough nutrients in part because of the toxins in the food supply, then we're short on what we need to detox those toxins.
