Major Davis's First Actions in West Virginia
Major Davis was in charge of West Virginia's efforts to suppress the strikers. His first actions targeted union organizers, arresting them for trying to hold gatherings and having several of them brutally beaten by his own men. He also put it in order for a crate of new Thompson's submachine guns,. which he hoped would aid the Mingo police and clearing out strikers and their families.
