What Is a Thought?
In the second, thinking is still there, but there's awareness thinking, thinking. We know that we're thinking. So this is that added observing power of the mind. Have you ever gone five or ten or 15 steps without even knowing that you are walking? You've just been subsumed in being lost. And so to see this repeatedly and to understand it repeatedly begins to free us from being so dominated by this particular mental activity.
