I think this book is really kind of speaks to the perfectionists in all of us. Perfectionism has become a cultural placeholder, an implicit cultural placeholder for power and drive in women. There's this invisible model that's operating right now, which is like perfectionism as disease, women as patients and balance as cure. So it's like this message that all perfectionism is bad and unhealthy even though there are decades of research on what's called adaptive perfectionism.
