When the dolylama turned 80, i was honored to be asked to write a book for him that articulates his vision for the world. And one thing that startled me was finding out that he's really, at heart, a social activist. He gets really incensed about injustice, scial injustice and widening gap between rich and poor. In buddhism generally, anger is often seen as something you want to suppress. But there is a usefulness in feeling strong emotions such as anger when we experience injustice.
