The Grave in the Afterlife in Ancient Israel

Ancient Israelites believe the dead can kept on living in one sense or another. They would provide food providing light providing protection for the deceased in the afterlife and we also see them communing with the deceased in different ways visiting them at prescribed intervals to have feasts, petition them for aid or to seek information from them. Necromancy was phenomenally common in ancient Israel necromancy is a form of magic known as "necrophilia" It's believed that people were able to communicate with their dead by giving gifts such as water so they could drink it after death.
