The Effects of Dopamine on the Brain
In all four sections of this brain, particularly the RAS and the limbic system, dopamine is deficient. Notably, dopamine plays a major role in the brain's reward circuit. Many people with ADHD have trouble managing rewards and stimulant so they take medications used to increase dopamine. But when you think about dopamine increasing, you're already thinking about the reward being achieved. However, it is often missed that dopamine actually creates the anticipation of the reward. Therefore, there is a greater anticipation of the Reward than more rewards can be achieved. The increase in dopamine may increase us getting to our rewards. And the efficiency of dopamine definitely leads to less rewards.
