The Benefits of a Soft Box
The soft box catches any light from spilling where you don't want it to spill. You could either have a grid that's controlling the light and then you might add flags like just, you know, big black pieces of fabric hanging off of light sands to the sides to control it. There will always be some control in a more professional than I know that we're not professionals, but as you scale up, you would start to like make sure that's getting controlled. The other application of this is just that if you're lighting an interior and you want it to feel like natural daylight, this is why putting your light outside of the room so that it's shining through a window becomes those flags
