The Importance of Power Cleans in Strength Training

The power clean is for the purpose of keeping your ability to display an explosion under load equivalent to your increasing strength. As you get stronger you need to explode with more weight and that's what that's for. But we don't pretend that it increases neuromuscular efficiency because it doesn't. The best strength program in the country never improves standing vertical jump more than 25 percent. Most of them are 15, 16, 17, 18 percent improvement. That's all.
