The Three Needs of Self-Esteem

Self-worth is a distinguishable component from competence. With self-worth, it's more tied to social relations. Some people actually will call that component in the psychological care. They'll call it self-liking versus self-competence. These two forms of self-esteem can come apart. Those who score very, very high in narcissism tend to feel a great sense of competence almost an exaggerated sense but they don't actually like themselves that much.
