The Importance of User-Centered Design
The book is a response to what I've been feeling uncomfortable about for a long time when it comes to user-centered design. A lot of our methods really revolve around user advocacy primarily, right? It's like an empathy-driven approach. But it's really in many ways limited to an understanding of how people interact with the things we're designing. So who are actually whose needs we're actually designing it for are Instagram's needs, and not your user's needs.
