The Importance of Being Mortal
We have a very limited amount of time, which means that getting more efficient can only ever take you so far. And in fact, as other people have pointed out, we don't really have time, quantities of time at all. So there's a real sort of anxiety that comes from constantly asking for this kind of security from the future and never getting it because you're never going to know what the future really holds.
