The Moral Failure of Poverty in America
Is poverty in this country, for some of the reasons you're alluding to just now, a policy failure or policy success? And what I mean by that is if what you're saying is true, then we've almost engineered poverty in the sense that it's a choice. We have more than enough resources to deal with this problem, certainly more effectively. So in that sense, are we kind of getting what we really want out of this? Yes, I see it as a moral failure.
