When you're sleeping, the brain essentially replays these memories and things that we learnt in the day. It's almost like I suppose that's why we dream at night because the brain is busy processing things. If you get sufficient sleep, you are likely to be more creative. So there's a really fascinating process that happens during REM sleep. And this is when the brain makes connections between what seems to be unrelated pieces of information.
