The Importance of Belief in a Program

The emotional state that the athlete arrives to any workout in sets the success of that workout up even before the physical stress is imparted on them. Your thoughts, beliefs, emotions, perceptions of what's going to happen and whether it's going to be good for you or not. That sets the background neurochemical environment. How tense your muscles are also a big factor as well - chemically but also electrophysiologically. And that creates the backdrop, the background, the foundation upon which you overlay your training stimulus. The number one answer from coaches was belief in the program.
