The original inda europeans had a word for honey. Honey was the only source of sugar and sweetness in this period. And they also had the original word for mead, which was metu. These are giving us more clues as to the time frame in which these people lived. We have words for fire, night, wind, sun, snow and winter because we have those words reconstructed.
