The Difference Between Confronting Something Shadowy Within Ourself

I want to lift up the difference between confronting something shadowy within ourselves, versus being confronted with shadow when we see it being lived out by someone else. I think that those two things can feel very different. So when I have a confrontation with my own behavior, it has that sense of being humiliating or bringing me low. When I see it being acted out in the life of another person in which I'm likely going to defend against it in some way. We just take a direct route up to what we think is our neocortex of objective quote, unquote judgment. And then we quickly repudiate it.
