The Risks of Breast Radiation Side Effects
For patients with deeper visceral tumors, we can tell them that they're probably not going to have dermatitis. The acute side effects are going to involve what's nearby the prostate, the bladder, the rectum and basically anything in the pelvis. Long-term risks have to do with things like developing pneumonitis or lymphodema - radiation induced cardiac toxicities.
