The Difference Between Hypertrophy and Resistance Training
There is some degree of time dependence going on when it comes to running books. When you're basically doing hypertrophy focused training for longer and longer and longer, your general sensitivity to it can start trending down over time. You very well could be gaining muscle at a substantially slower rate at that point simply because you've been exposing yourself to the same general training stimulus for that long.
