When i was in software, payor duty was one of the first big changes we made to our it wasn't called deops at the time. We were getting too many false positive alerts from our alerting systems and monering tools. Our developers were just frustrated because they were spending too much time investigating the problem rather than solving the problem. Now if problem a is occurring, it gets person a to fix it. Problem b, person b, problem c, person c. You know, if persons c superior as persons c plus one, it's like new to move the call up. That's pretty crazy how it's evolved since i first experienced it one night.
