The Importance of Money for an Architecture Practice
commoditization is extremely bad for an architectural practice. Competitive pressure reduces the fees that firms charge, which then makes it difficult for firms to provide the level and quality of service they aspire to provide. The more money a firm captures for its service, the more likely the firm will be able to survive,. not only survive, but just thrive. Without money, what happens without money? The practice dies. It becomes non existent. I don't think i've ever met an architect who saidthat they came into architecture because they wanted to be wealthier, they wanted to get rich. So let me just work harder.
