The Banking Method of Education Is the Primary Form of Education

In a settler colonial and racist society, the educational system serves to fortify the racial hierarchy as well. The recent meltdown on the American right about critical race theory is a particularly timely example of just this. To have a truly complete picture of American history is to comprehend deeply how the processes of capitalist accumulation and racialized oppression go hand in hand at home and abroad. Making such connections is not in the interest of the ruling elite; their interests lie in actively preventing such a unified comprehension.
