It seems a very strange mystery that they should be even able and principled to touch each other. I don't see why but I can understand in the present climate where physicalism is so rampant that people think this without questioning. But if they settled down and thought about it, they would realise that there were properties to which subject has privileged access or physical properties are publicly accessible.
