Is There Something Surprising About Japanese Village Culture?

There's no religious town hall space or temple or like a square that you have in some European type places to sort of meet it's more sort of dispersed and people meet actually on the harvest rather than in kind of community spaces. There are motsity which are festivals in Japan and that is also another time for gathering just recently a couple days ago there was a gathering at a temple so that reminded me where people who were planting rice in the same area came together to kind of say prayers and make wishes for a good harvest in the fall. People look out for each other and are very generous with what they have in abundance and are willing to share that abundance.
