How to Distil a Complex Concept or Topic
To take something complex, in the word of teaching, and making it simple requires the use of analogies and metaphors. To make things simple, you've got to understand that you're teaching them something unknown. So now, what do people know? People cind of generally understand music. What i say to the students when they join my class is to go look, we're ging to learn how to play our instrument, right? That's our voice. Now by using that simple analogy of learning how to use your voice, then learning how to write great music, that frames that lesson and distils it. I can tell them what that lesson is about in less 30 seconds
