The Overworld in Double Dragon
The overworld design in the game also, I think is kind of like brazenly simple. It sort of gives you just the right amount of choice. You go back there between fights and you're just moving on points almost like a Super Mario World map until you get to the next fight. The thing about beat-em-ups is that like forward momentum is very key.
