The Emotional Learning of a Child

When we learn something as a child, that learning stays operative. These things don't fade out. The brain evolved to maintain emotional learning. So he was expecting that any adult in the room, even with him being now an adult in his 40s, on a subcortical level, you know, we can think of it as his child self. He's actually expecting that somebody in this room, if I say something that is wrong or they think is wrong, could come at me like dad did. And by bringing out these emotional learnings, the first therapeutic effect that it has is that it beautifully depathologizes.
