The Role of Hormones in the Recovery Process
There are lots of different hormones that are responsive to exercise. Stress hormones would include things like cortisol, epinephrine, norepinephrine and dopamine growth hormone. And then there are anabolic hormones like testosterone and insulin like growth factor. So monitoring the time course for when those hormones go back to normal is important.
