I spent 20 years in New Zealand being an immigrant trying to understand how they think. My impression was after three weeks it's a very laid-back country if you like the birds, beaches and trails. It also has the limitation of being isolated in various ways physically and mentally. The signs on the side of the road were misspelled and no one cared about school. There is value in that it's just a different mentality it's about going sideways in terms of going upwards.
