The relationship between sleep deprivation and mental health is complicated. But it seems that the two are quite correlated. The poor sleep in of itself will feed in and make the psychiatric illness worse. And so what we did with that theoretical idea was partially stabilized sleep in individuals with insomnia showing paranoia and hallucinatory experiences.
