Is There a Difference Between Nuclear Risk and Climate Change?
We haven't seen nuclear weapons detonated in war since 1945 but we shouldn't take that track record for granted because if you look at some of those incidents we came pretty close. We are putting a lot of stress on decision makers and that's all by design because deterrence is ultimately about psychology. I think it's a system that's really prone to failure - fortunately when it comes to nuclear weapons we haven't had any deterrence failures in the first 77 years of nuclear weapons.
