You're making your body work to regenerate that heat to regain homeostasis essentially. The coldest you will be is when you get up because that is where your blood vessels will open again. So if people out there have experienced what is called the after drop where you shiver on the couch, it's not wrong. It's just your body functioning perfectly well. As long as you don't feel uncomfortable, like mentally getting dizzy or something, then everything is fine. You can work that at that adaptation up by ending on the cold.
Dr. Susanna Søberg is a PhD graduate from the University of Copenhagen, specializes in studying the effects of intentional exposure to cold and heat on human physiology, particularly metabolism. Her work explores how deliberate cold protocols can enhance glucose metabolism, insulin sensitivity, and neurotransmitter release, contributing to improved energy, mood, and focus.
