The Different Types of Motor Neuron Disorders

ALS is probably the most common of a fairly rare disease class. Spinal muscular atrophy are a progressive congenital disorder of motor neurons. They typically have lower motor neuron findings, no sensory involvement. And again this is a group of disorders and really a spectrum along age of onset. Anywhere from onset prenatally to the point that it's not compatible with life.
