The Importance of Word for Word Accuracy in Literary Translation
I was wondering if we could sort of zig from the New Yorker back to translation for a moment. And I was interested in just one, one particular word that came up while I was reading my brilliant friend and the use of the word women. Well, you can't really, you sort of can't translate word for word. I mean, it's not, it wouldn't sound like English. The important thing is to remember is that you want the finished book to sound like not necessarily that it was written in English, but that it is in English.
