The Prescriptive Referencing Process

When a candidate becomes a finalist, we follow what I call a prescriptive referencing process. We're gathering the names of people that they've worked with on specific projects during the interview process. And then at the end, based upon where we think we might have some gaps or some problems or some questions, I go back to the candidate and say, these are the 10 people I need to call within the next 48 hours.
