Anti-Pf4 Antibody Specificity

The anti-PF4 antibody test is extremely sensitive, but not very specific. The sensitivity is usually cited around 98 to 100% and the specificity is usually in the 30 to 40%. Even one study saw that 8 to 17% of people who receive some kind of heparin product for seven days had a positive hit antibody without having clinical hit.
