Galen's Ethics
Galen believed that the soul, like the body, can be ill or healthy. The effects of alcohol on people who drink is a particularly clear example in his work. Galen speaks at length about these failings of character in two ethical works known in the Arabic tradition. He begins by telling us that God's greatest gift to mankind is Akhil, meaning reason.
