How good is what we call baby aspirin for primary prevention? That's a great question and has been a topic of a lot of debate among a lot of the people in the field. And I don't know if there is a consensus right now, but I think the overall thinking about primary prevention aspirin has evolved over past 20-30 years. Most of the benefit was related to reducing the risk of repeat MI or recurrent adverse cardiovascular event in form of MI, but not as much for mortality. The US-prentictive services task force have come out based on the experiences in the past, using aspirin for patients who have a Framingham risk score of 10%.
