The Importance of Privilege in Postmodernism
The notion of privilege which is very much a dirty word coming out of kind of postmodern discourse but I think it works in a similar way as being kind of undermining the way that it works. Ultimately it leads to people sort of denigrating privilege because it's associated with dominant dominating power and then none of the other things you might say like well people who have privilege then you know they get the benefits of the situation, he says. He also argues theories of power are not fine-grained enough so you presume that a group has power everywhere at all times and places.
