How to Trigger a Parasympathetic Response
The first and easiest thing to do is to take some slow breaths. If you make a big yawn or if you raise your soft palate by saying kind of the R sound, it sends a message to your brain that you're safe. Our nervous system mirrors other people's nervous systems. Some people start yawning. It'll trigger that parasympathetic response in others. And sometimes it's hard to calm our minds down. So one of the fastest ways to trigger calm is through the body.
