The Rise of the Factory Farming Industry

In the US at any point in time, we have about 2 billion animals being factory-farmed. As countries like China or India get wealthier, they want to eat more meat. We're seeing the export of huge factory farming systems often from big US companies. If there's low-hanging fruit we can do to limit animal suffering, what is it?
