We'd rather be coherent than right. Thats how our brains work. And we would add that that is, evolutionarily speaking, a very adaptive dgy. You don't want to keep changing your mind four times before breakfast. Although then you read a study of flossing, and you think, i'm just being silly. But i if we had to change our minds with everything that came along every day, we wouldn't get anything done.
