How to Codify Information

The vast majority of the inputs that we have as we go through our practice in emergency medicine or sit in a classroom, most of it we ignore. But you have attention to some kind of stimulus or cue. That is then in our working memory, which has a finite capacity. The issue is that you can easily be overwhelmed when you have too many inputs. And so that leads to poor coding of that information. So knowledge is not just transferred, it's constructed in a unique way for every individual.
