Humans are the only species that massively uses energy outside of the body. And th is only made available by the fact that we're accissing this pool of stored hydrocarbons. So we have like a hundred to one armies of fossil workers standing behind us. The economic system only treats their value as the cost of extracting them from the earth. Economic text books have completely missed this.
