I am a strong advocate of aligning learning with business impact, like any other function. Learning should show business value otherwise, why are we investing in it? I'd always start in my own backyard. So if you've got an LMS, what have you been able to learn from your own system first and foremost. Get a lay of the land in that domain. Understand what the learning system is telling you in the first instance. In doing so, it will prompt a new range of questions, and that will be the next extension of your activity. And it will provide you with an evidence base, and also a platform for conversation with your colleagues in the business.
