The Fox of the Ancient Greek Fable

Political scientist Philip Tetlock demonstrated in his 2005 book, Expert Political Judgment that political forecasters have a woeful record. Part of the problem is that experts tend to be part of political camps so they cannot objectively assess information. The Fox personality type tends to be scrappy and scrounge around for different ideas. They are not hottie, ideological. This kind of forecaster is more like the Fox of the ancient Greek fable, who knows a lot of little things. In contrast to the hedgehog, who knows one big thing.
